PHILADELPHIA, April 7, 2015 — Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts participating in MDA Ride for Life this spring will put their kickstands down in an all new location for the 28th annual event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association on May 1- 3 at Camelback Resort located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains.

Ride for Life XXVIII, presented by the Eastern Harley-Davidson Dealers Association (EHDDA), will be the first-ever event hosted at Camelback Resort in Tannersville, Pa. after it opens its doors later this spring.

“We are excited to partner with Camelback Resort for our 28th annual event that will raise awareness and critical funds to help fuel MDA’s fight for muscle health, said MDA Ride for Life Event Coordinator Tracy Hausknecht. “The resort is a perfect location for the event because it provides Ride for Life participants and MDA families with more accommodations and travel options so they can easily enjoy all that the event has to offer under the convenience of one roof. We are incredibly thankful for the generosity of Camelback Resort and its amazing staff for opening its doors to MDA so that we can continue to enhance the Ride for Life experience.”

All motorcycle brands are welcome at the weekend long event that will raise funds and awareness to help save and improve the lives of children and adults fighting life-threatening muscle disease.

The event kicks-off at Camelback Resort on Friday, May 1 with the Harley-Davidson Happy Hour and Dealer registration that will also feature live entertainment, courtesy of Stand Up-Sit Down comedian Brett Leake.

Day 2 will start off with the Ride for Life Thunder Parade that will be held at the revered Pocono Raceway, another event first. Gates open at 10 a.m. for parade staging that is set to begin at 12 p.m.

The Ride for Life experience will then continue on the grounds of Camelback Resort where day-long live music festivities will commence from 2-8 p.m. on two stages featuring regional bands ranging from Southern rock, rock and blues. The Marshall Tucker Band, known for Southern rock hit “Can’t You See,” will cap off the day’s excitement with a concert for all Ride for Life attendees.

Since 1988, Ride for Life has raised nearly $19 million for MDA with over 50,000 participants. All of the money raised stays in a five state area to help support MDA’s life- enhancing programs such as state-of-the-art support groups and clinics, and make MDA summer camp possible so kids with muscle disease can enjoy “the best week of the year.”
