Home and Family

Caleb has two loving parents, Marlene and Noel, along with three siblings; Isaac (17), Micah (11) and Abigail (9). His family recently traveled to the Grand Canyon and they had a great time!

Diagnosis

Caleb was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of 8. Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration. Symptom onset is in early childhood, usually between ages 3 and 5. The disease primarily affects boys, but in rare cases it can affect girls.

School

Caleb is in 8th grade and currently attends a public middle school. His favorite subjects are Math and Art.

Interests

Caleb is an accomplished artist who is active with his church. He enjoys video games and spending time with his family and friends. Recently, Caleb attended his first Barons hockey game and had a blast!

MDA Activities

Caleb has attended MDA Summer Camp every year since his diagnosis. He loves to play power soccer! He stays active with MDA throughout the year serving in many capacities and attending most of the local events. Caleb’s activities include: Muscle Walk, Fill-the-Boot Kick Offs, Serving Up Cures, and various others. He served as a Shambassador and has interviewed with local news stations for Fill-the-Boot and Summer Camp. The Pendley family could not be more excited to represent MDA!
