I’ll Push You: A Camino Journey of 500 Miles, Two Best Friends and One Wheelchair
A SPECIAL ONE-NIGHT ONLY EVENT IN SELECT THEATERS ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2017
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION
Born just over 36 hours apart, Justin Skeesuck and Patrick Gray are unlike any other best friends you’ve ever met. Over the past 20 years, a progressive neuromuscular disease called multifocal acquired motor axonopathy (MAMA), which is similar to ALS, has slowly taken away Justin’s ability to use his arms and legs. From morning until night, Justin requires daily assistance in every aspect of life such as eating, getting dressed, bathing and even using the restroom.
Despite those challenges, in the spring of 2012, Justin asked Patrick if he would go on a trek on the Camino de Santiago, a 500-mile pilgrimage trail in Northern Spain. Patrick’s response was simple and direct. He said, “I’ll push you.”
In 2014, they became the first people to complete the Camino in a wheelchair. They are now sharing their inspiring story with audiences around the world this year via a book and a film, both titled “I’ll Push You.”
