Again in 2016, MDA Summer Camps across America have given kids with muscular dystrophy and related muscle-debilitating diseases “the best week of the year!”

At MDA Summer Camp, kids live beyond limits in a place where anything is possible. It’s a week where they are free to enjoy adventures like horseback riding, swimming, fishing, dancing, and even flying on zip lines. And they reconnect with old friends, make new lifelong friendships, and emerge with a new level of self-confidence and independence. That’s because at camp, they’re regular kids – just like everyone else at camp!

MDA Summer Camp enables campers to stretch beyond their comfort zones and grow a sense of independence as they spend a week away from home with someone other than their parents providing personal care. Our campers, counselors, volunteers, and parents all have a week to remember.

By the numbers: almost 4,000 kids and 4,400 counselors and volunteers at nearly 75 camps in 42 states at an approximate cost of $2,000 per camper.
