Lily Joy Bamberg was adopted from Inner Mongolia, China at the age of 7. Lily lives with her parents, Trent and Kristie Bamberg, and has 3 siblings: Mary Ashtyn (16), Reece (13), and Ava (10).

Diagnosis

Approximately 3 months after her adoption, Lily was diagnosed with Merosin Deficient Congenital Muscular Dystrophy at age 8.

School

Lily is a third grade student. She loves school, especially reading and math.

Interests

Lily finds joy in all activities and loves meeting new people and trying new things. She loves spending time with her family and taking road trips. Lily and her sister, Ava, enjoy playing with their huge collection of Barbie dolls and dancing to “Just Dance” on the Wii.

MDA Activities

Lily and her family enjoy meeting MDA sponsors and other families who are fighting against muscle disease. Lily loves to attend events such as the Annual MDA Christmas Party and the Denim and Diamonds Ball. She also attends the annual firefighter’s convention and is known for coordinating her very own Shamrock drive. She is a big fan of MDA Summer Camp each year and always has her team, Lily Unlimited, ready for the MDA Muscle Walk.
