Zander is the son of Jennifer and Antonio Vargas. Has one brother, Antonio.

Diagnosis

At age 6, Zander was diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (CMD), which at this time is grossly affecting his digestive system and bones, causing early onset osteoporosis.

School

Zander is currently in 5th grade.

Interests

Zander is an energetic and outgoing boy who lives life to the fullest. He enjoys Legos, computer games, reading and going to MDA events.

MDA Activities

Zander has been a local goodwill ambassador in the Sacramento area for many years. He attends Lock-Ups, Fill-the-Boots, NALC picnics and conventions, Shamrock events as well as Aisles of Smiles. He has been featured on multiple local news and radio programs. Every year, Zander sings the National Anthem at the Sacramento Muscle Walk. He and his family also formed a Muscle Walk team and raised over $3,500. Zander loves to share his story and educate people about his disease and the MDA.
