Join MDA and representatives from Southwest and Alaska Airlines on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 3 p.m. EDT for an informative conversation about accessible air travel. This webinar is a continuation of MDA’s collaborative accessible air travel efforts as we team up with representatives from the airline industry to discuss traveling with a disability and as we explore ways to help eliminate barriers to access.
Access to air travel is one of MDA’s policy priorities because the ability to fly is essential to being able to live, work and go to school where you choose—and can have important impacts on health as it can determine whether someone can see a specialty provider or participate in a clinical trial that is far from home. As part of MDA’s efforts to understand the experiences of the neuromuscular disease community with regard to air travel, we conducted a comprehensive community survey and released an overview of the survey results in June, which can be reviewed here.
We appreciate the engagement of the airlines in this webinar and for their interest in engaging with us on air travel accessibility issues. We will be covering many topics from the Air Carrier Access Act, to tips for passengers with disabilities, to considerations for increased access to air travel in the future.
Please join us on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 3 p.m. EDT for this one-hour webinar, which will include a question and answer session where we welcome your engagement. If you have a question that you would like to submit in advance of the webinar, please email your question.
