Carlee Weber, Age 12
Home and Family
Carlee lives with her mom Nicole, stepfather Keith, brother Chase, stepsister Morgan, 2 cats and 2 dogs.
Carlee was diagnosed with Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). SMA is a genetic disease affecting the part of the nervous system that controls voluntary muscle movement. The age at which SMA symptoms begin roughly correlates with the degree to which motor function is affected: The earlier the age of onset, the greater the impact on motor function. The biggest potential problems in SMA are respiratory muscle weakness, swallowing muscle weakness, and back muscle weakness with progressive spinal curvature.
Carlee is in the 7th grade where she enjoys Art and Science.
Carlee is a strong and sweet girl who enjoys swimming, singing and creating art. She would one day like to be a marine biologist.
Carlee has participated in many events with MDA including MDA Telethons, Lockups, Summer Camp, Fill the Boot and Ride for Life. She especially loves Ride for Life as her entire family likes to participate.
