Devin lives at home with three sisters, his mom and step dad. He loves to play board games and hang out with his family.
Diagnosis
Devin was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of seven. Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. DMD is caused by an absence of dystrophin, a protein that helps keep muscle cells intact. The disease primarily affects boys, but in rare cases it can affect girls.
School
Devin is in the 5th grade. He loves to make friends at school. His favorite subjects are reading and art.
Interests
Devin loves animals. He enjoys the I Survived series (stories of real life survivors). He likes sports, playing games, reading, drawing, writing and going to the park.
MDA Activities
Devin loves to attend all of the MDA events. His favorite, by far, is summer camp. He loves archery and horseback riding. He loves meeting new friends and volunteers at camp as well.
